Harmonizing Standards Key for Trade

The Zambia Bureau of Standards (ZABS) has revealed that it is working with National Standards Bodies within the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) Region to harmonize standards and conformity assessment procedures, a move that will eliminate discrepancies and ensure that products and services meet consistent requirements thereby reducing technical barriers to trade (TBTs).

ZABS extends olive branch to manufacturers.

It has come to our knowledge that some manufacturers have been involved in the improper use of the ZABS certification or Quality marks on their products. This has been through affixing the mark onto the products even when they have not undergone the due process of certification.

Increase in Certified products in the country
