Training
Zambia Bureau of Standards (ZABS) offers specialized training to industry, individual’s, government agencies and other Institutions in Management Systems Certification to industry in Zambia. These training courses put individuals and organizations on the fast track to success as it leverages the competitiveness of products or services in both local and international markets.
What is a Management System?
A Management System is a company’s structure for managing its processes and activities that transform inputs of resources into a product or service which meets the company’s objectives while satisfying the customer’s quality requirements, complying with regulations, meeting environmental and public health objectives.
Types of Training we provide
In-house training ensued
ZABS conducts In-house training upon request from the organization that is in need of training. The trainings are conducted at the premises or any suitable venue prepared by the organization needing the training. This type of training requires a minimum number of 5 and a maximum of 20 participants.
Open training
This type of training is available to individuals from organizations and the general public on a particular set date and venue. The Bureau invites participants to register for training in various courses. The dates and courses on offer for open trainings are outlined in the ZABS annual training calendar. The training calendar is available on the ZABS website.

- Laboratory Management System (ISO 17025:2017)
- Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)
- Good Agriculture Practices (GAP)
Courses are presented in English only. Special needs are considered especially in cases where in-house trainings are presented. A variety of training methods and techniques are used, and these include lectures, videos, assignments, manuals, and exercises. Group participation is encouraged throughout, as it enhances the learning experience
Our team of trainers comprise of ZABS members of staff who are qualified and technically competent professionals with vast experience in the delivery of training and consultancy in courses offered. All our trainers are equipped with practical knowledge of the standards and can guide participants in understanding and implementing lessons learnt in their respective field.
